in short form: yes because crafting in retail now is tedious at best and for little to no reward or profit. and if any profit then has to be near the beginning of the xpac before there's 1000's of everything available and its worth nothing. especially mining
two words: nax xmog. its really boring and tedious though. gl
Professions reward degeneracy.I would still almost forgive that if they would remove the god awful work order system.
this bro answered the question by saying he made millions but can't buy dragonflight with gold lmao why would anyone follows that dudes advice?
The DF wormhole is anazing, I use it all the time. Press one button woosh youre in Zaralek Caverns. It’s also a 15 min cd.
Professions is honestly one of the best things they've done with DF, it feels complicated to start with, but when you gotten into it and can craft stuff you can make a ton of gold with it.
It was already too late 2 weeks into the expansion because of how the system was designed, lol.
The whole "behind on crafting" is a big myth. The BIGGEST gate to crafting is rare patterns like lariat, raid patterns, and the decay ones. My brand new alts have enough to be profitable.
If all mats continue to be tradeable and AH-able yes. I hate just having a spreadsheet setup for marginal profits at max efficacy of any given profession. There's no point in gathering anything yourself. You cant specialize in anything when you have everything. It honestly just feels like there's not a thing that is even a bit skill adjecent when it comes to selling any profession goods atm. Gathering is also done by people who do not value their time at all (bots) and you cannot be good at it either. Making money feels like a tedious spam of addon updates ran through spreadsheets and that is it.
Since almost EVERY Blizzcon they stand on that little stage and say something along these lines, "We learnt from our mistakes and will do better." This time around it's Professions turn to have that repeated lines for sure!"Is it too late?" is one of those things that can be true for certain Crafting professions for one simple reason. Leveling those up beyond 50 / 60 / 70 alone can get harder and harder as the time passes. Yes, you will have some re-rollers with each season or people start doing things on alts half way through but most of the high end crafting gear happens at the start and then it's just "Re-crafting" the same gear with each season. If I remember correctly, and I could be somewhat wrong on this, Blizz said their goal for Crafting was to be a proper "character progressing" system just like you would do for Dungeons or Raids. You spend lots of time and investment to improve at a Profession and you "could be" able to do it while sitting in the town and being "The Best Blacksmith in the Town".And then they followed it up with important and high quality gear recipes locked behind the usual BS that is Raids. In other words, to be the "Best Blacksmith in the Town" you MUST also Raid. That same decades old BS carried through this huge mess of a "overhaul" for Professions. The end result? Rich got richer by spending tons of gold (and time) early and leveling up professions, specially those who also raid. The rest? Yeah, you keep dreaming to be "The Best Blacksmith in the Town" since that's never gonna happen if you just "keep smithing" unless you are a raider and/or rich to begin with.Next expansion will surely have big changes to Professions, the question however is, how much will they "learn from their mistakes" and do it right.
economy ruined by capitalism, wow token great price very nice recent yes?
Yet AH prices on crafted mats (What I mean by this are materials that require other materials to be made) and normal materials, are slowly but surely inflating, like for instance dracothyst dropped to 2k, now their at 4.5k and the spores are at an INSANELY high price. For perspective, it costs 300 more gold to make the dracothyst yourself over buying them off the AH, meaning that the literal only way to profit is to get multicraft procs. Meaning that raw mats currently are not being sold well either due to some group of botters or TSM cancel scanners trying to turn their inventories over before the launch of the next tier. Making it even harder than before to profit from the AH in any sort of fashion currently as you would be crafting at a loss, and mats are moving slowly due to the current issue of items being crafted at a net loss over gain. The AH is just a mess currently, and if I'm being blunt all the botters and TSM AH cancel scanners are to blame for this honestly. From the amount of posts that seem to be done by a single player, it seems like their methods of obtaining those items simply are far from legitiamate, and is hurting the economy of the game badly with how unchecked its become. The point of globalizing the AH was to try and curb the influence these ill intended players have, yet it seems to have amplified the problem as they have so much gold now they can still buy everything out and reset it at a higher than usual price. I simply think AH addons need to be kicked to the curb, or have their power reduced significantly, given they are a big component as to why these AH bots and cancel scanners are able to do what their doing, and with the updated AH, it wouldn't be a horrible transition if the addons were cut from the game.
