Achievements and now this? You guys are on a downward slope...
I can't wait till its available to premium without enabling ads. I use meebo on my iPod all the time.
Argent, you are expecting way too much out of people; complainers like that need to hide behind their sweeping accusations to feel better about themselves.
Suggestion, make it darker please, as it is, its kind of annoying. I like Wowhead because of its easy on the eyes theme, but the bar kinda messes with that. I'm used to the bottom of my browser being dark, if it were, I'd not have it hidden all the time.
It's too annoying, sorry. I used adblock to get rid of it.
This post was from a user who has deleted their account.
UrrrrrAm I the only one having problems actually finding the thing?i don't have Premium, so it's not that. It just doesn't actually appear anywhere. (Forums and database, just in case it wasn't in one of them but in the other instead)
Only thing i dislike about it is that it takes maybe 5-7 seconds for it to load and it makes my internet laggy when it does. Or maybe this is just purely a internet issue and not an issue with it.
Uhmmm. Is it possible it's blocking Meebo and not Wowhead?I don't really use an ad-block, certainly not for Wowhead.ie, it doesn't block any of the ads on here
Hey guys, Love the idea but it causes a lot of lag on my PC (Im not direct conected to the internet, and for some reason it locks up easy.) Is it possible for me to turn it off?
So wait, is this replacing ads that appear on every Wowhead page or just adding to them? If users are going to have ads at both the top and bottom of every page, I think they'll be even more inclined to use AdBlock.
First thing I thought when I saw it was spyware on my browser. The entire bar is useless to me. All the wowhead links on it are still easily accessible by hitting "home" on my keyboard and going to it the usual way. I have absolutely no interest in the social media features. My thoughts:1) Please add an option to turn it off completely in user account controls.. The minimize feature is nice, but I don't even want it loading when I come to wowhead. 2) Skin it to match the wowhead theme. 3) Can no longer copy and paste text, or use text highlighting as a place marker. This is an annoyance that could turn into a deal breaker.4) Add a wowhead search box to it (can't hurt, and adds utility).I've been a wowhead user for years. Never once have I been worried about any change wowhead brought about, from the ZAM purchase to the achievements. This one however actually worries me. It "cheapens" the site in some ways, mostly because I hate social media. I understand its usefulness/utility, but have never liked its tacky and amateur execution across the web. The way youtube handles sharing is one way that I actually like, because its is never in the way and you never notice it until you need it, and at that moment its exactly where you want it to be.
The bar seems to be nothing but advertising for a site already so well designed as Wowhead. The benefits of the meebo bar, as best I can tell, are increased ad revenue by adding a new place for ads, as well as easier site navigation. The problem is that Wowhead's site navigation is already stellar, with links to everywhere you could possibly want to go on every single page in a neatly organized manner. The purpose is thus defeated, and the bar serves no purpose other than to advertise. For this reason, it is nothing but a nuisance.I would like an option to completely disable it available to all members; sidebar ads are one thing, but this bar seizes control over copy and paste functionality and follows you around the screen as an overlay; I find it far too intrusive to have its removal become a perk of a Premium registration.
