Didn't they do something like this with the Satyr/Ardenweald races in SL (where they added a bunch of customization options) because they explained that it allowed them to easily randomly generate different NPCs rather than using a cookie-cutter model? I could see this being the same. Granted, it would be neat if it was an allied race.
makes me think this is like the step between darktrolls and nelfs and they went underground halfway through.

We could've had thicc tastefully furry Elf-Troll-Quillboars, but no, it had to be a Dwarf reskin with female beards. (Still, please for the love of the Titans don't add this as the next Allied Race - I'd much sooner see Naga or Vrykul or Arakkoa or other long-time warcraft stuff)

Just what we need, more elves. /sGive the people Tuskarr damn it! We want tuskarr, ogres, upright undead (paladins), more (sensible) race/class combos unlocked (Pandaren druids anyone?)And more vulpera. Like customisation, and race combos. Druid / DHSpeaking of, surely the Demon hunters have started teaching other races how to hunt demons?So much cool stuff to explore without inventing wows answer to drow. They do look kinda cool tho......

We saw the same level of customization, if not more, of the covenant races too and they never became allied races. (maybe because Shadowlands was so poorly received) Tbh I really hope this isn't a future allied race. I'd much rather have Krokuul Draenei, half-ogres/mok'nathal, Amani trolls if we ally with them in Midnight, or honestly just more customization for existing races. Give us 10+ new faces for each race, 20 more hairstyles, more body tattoos, scars, jewelry and other cosmetics
