That's pretty fair.
I understand that people have problems with having to unlock "new" races, but personally I kinda love it. I really enjoyed working towards all the allied races in BfA. It also feels like a good way to build up the races' lore etc. so that I'm already invested in their story once I create one, so it's great for immersion. I prefer that to reading about it online.Don't read this though, Blizzard. I don't want people to blame me when you continue doing this.
Nobody cares about yet another dwarf race. I predict this race to go the way of pandas 1 year into expac launch.
No one cares about this "race", and there's no new classes to play.
if you can't jump-start an expansion featuring a new race, with the new race, then it sucks.
I am not mad about it because I don't want to make one. Super happy to see no reputation requirement listed though! Stay away from that blizz!
Are people actually angry that you have to play the game and the story to why they join us instead of just... bam... there you go.ALSO: It is a MMO with a monthly subscribiton. Complaining about timegating because blizz wants you to play longer is like complaining, that you cannot sleep after drinking 20 espresso. That is LITTERALLY how the make money. When they give you everything day one you complain that there is nothing to do and quit... so no more wow.
Might have made an Earthen on release but this just means that I'll probably wait a year or two. Don't want to level and do everything in the open world just to start a new character.
I completely get why they require these quests and lore moments to unlock the race, but I don't see myself going through all that grind for the unlock and then doing it all over again right after in my excitement to level... a metal dwarf. Allied races are a cool and easy way to implement a new playable race, but we just about began at the point where the differentiation between an allied race and the race they're derived from could've just as easily been a skin, like the night warrior, dark ranger, and eredar skins that came later. For that matter, eredar as a playable race holds infinitely more merit than what we got with lightforged draenei, and mechagnomes didn't warrant anything more than new gnome customizations. At least Dark Iron dwarves and Zandalari had more of a presence and lore basis. Not gonna sit here and recite the fan favorites, but there's been wasted opportunity after wasted opportunity to give players races they've wanted for years.Anyway, the skins look cool. Hope the hair and beards make it to dwarves someday!
Really looking forward to unlocking these and leveling one up :)
