Good riddance.
Guess he gonne be CEO von Microsoft soon.
Nobody will miss you <3
Wow, does this mean my Birthday will actually be better than last?
And just how much is he being given to leave? That's the question
Freedom
Best news I've read all week.
I think there should be another Holiday-Event in World of Warcraft and all the other Games, to celebrate that Blizzard finally is free again and hopefully will get better under Microsoft!Bobby, i hope the Plan bringing you away from Blizzard will fly right through the Bermudian Triangle so you will never be seen again... thanks for ruining one of the best companies we had and hopefully will get back after you've been gone!
thanks for enable comment !
Good ^&*!ing riddance
He was a great CEO, on behalf of the entire WoW community - we hope your future endeavors find success as you did at Activision!
Say what you want about Bobby, but the guy was really good at making money. I fear that with him gone as CEO they might start slowly going back down towards bankrupcy and the teams might get smaller, less games and everything else that happened before Bobby came in as CEO. I hate the guy as much as anyone else and the predatory monetization they have done over the years, but without Bobby wow would have been shutdown a long time ago.
Pick few new CEO's have players interview and vote for best one, ez. xD
It's impossible to celebrate this given that it's way too late, that he knew about the creepers and that he's a creeper himself. He's going to get a golden parachute and probably land a cushy position somewhere where men like him are treated like heroes.Even some of the comments here acting like he didn't do anything wrong. People have learned nothing.
He had a really good career and brought a company out of bankruptcy, he will be greatly missed by the gaming community at large.
All I can think of is Happy Gilmore "say goodnight Bobby"
Bye and never come back!
Was Bobby Kotick a successful businessman, in the role he fulfilled first as Activision's CEO, and then later with the acquisition of Blizzard and King? Yes.Was his "lower costs, meet deadlines, increase profits" mindset good for ANY of the studios over the years? Not in the slightest, for developers OR players. What Bobby's reign did, was cause the rise of unionization throughout the various development studios under the ABK (Activision-Blizzard-King) banner. Many of which were successful in both coming into being, and meeting goals to better the workers they represented. His reign also led to some of the worst monetization schemes around. Now, it wasn't Bobby himself dictating prices, that is beneath his position. That is what his appointed Finance Officers are for at each studio. Many of these roles will be gone or replaced within Microsoft.Bobby leaving is the front-facing show of the changing of the corrupt guard for what should generally be much better. Microsoft, and more specifically Xbox Gaming, have mostly proven to give developers the time they want (or even tell them they need to take more, in the case of Starfield for recent memory), to ensure the games that come out are good. Yes, there's been some duds, but it's overall got a pretty high quality output (even if the game types are not your cup of tea).Good-bye Mr Kotick. You will not be missed. While you did your job from a business/shareholder perspective, the view that most of the rest of us hold on you is somewhere between mild anger to major contempt.
