I was a big fan of G4TV and not a fan of MMO's. I was starting to open up to MMO's because of the show "Portal". The one thing that got me to buy WoW was a "Cheat" special on WoW. Between the scenes of flying a gryphon (which I didn't know I wouldn't be able to control) to the collectible pets, I figured I'd give the game a shot. This was in May 2005 and I've been playing ever since. (Needless to say the flying mounts still have me hooked. ;))So, I guess the answer is Kristin Holt.

I started back in 2006. My cousin used to play warcraft 3 and then one day I saw WoW on a shelf in a store and I told him, that that must be fun. He told me that it wasn't worth it cuz it was online and that you had to pay a subscribtion and stuff. Some months later he called me and tells me 'You MUST get this! NOW!' So i got a decent internet and bought the game :P I never actually got to play with my cousin until TBC came out thought lol.My first character was a warrior cuz to be honest i use preffer close combat to range lol, plus i liked being all armoured up and stuff. My first pvp action i'll never forget, because it was so weird. I saw a lvl 13 druid in maestras post and we just stood there for like 5 min whatching each other and doing emotes. then i did sorry, kneeled down and unsheft my sword and shield and we just went fighting up to the tower's top and then she jumped and i followed and we both died lol. That was also when i learnt you couldn't send mail to the opposite faction :P
My friend Jonah, who was about 11 at the time, and didn't get past 40. a year later I finally got it, and now I'm a 13 year old raider (Not a baddie, btw)
Buddy named Pyrath played for a while (me and my FPS buddies mocked him to no end). He ended up quitting and coming back a year later... I had just quit playing Battlefield, so I needed a new game. Decided to give WoW a shot.My ABSOLUTE first character was an undead rogue, but I deleted him before I hit level 2. My TRUE first character was a Blood Elf Warlock. Ran around in circles through Silvermoon for hours not knowing how to get out... Good times!I quit WoW around the time the Sunwell was released and came back last December. I rerolled Human Paladin on an RP server, and leveled school of hard-knocks style (no friends, no gold, nada) to 60. As this was a new account, I didn't have Wrath or BC and had to grind gold vanilla style for my epic ground mount.Eventually some old Battlefield buddies convinced me to reroll on Arthas (US, PvP) and I officially got into WoW hard core again. So, I blame Pyrath for getting me addicted in the first place, and Timmy+Xenon for re-sparking the raider in me. Thanks alot =P
Co-workers.They all played since beta. I had always been interested in MMO's since I played a lot of MUD's. It was a combination of their recounted WoW stories and a fateful episode of Cinematech featuring the Onyxia fight that convinced me to buy the game.I started a dwarf hunter on Mannoroth (thanks Illegal Danish!) but only made it to level 10 before my need to play bad characters lured me to the Horde. So began my long-lived troll rogue.I would spend the next year convincing my friends to play, and then having them run me through Deathmines because they were a lot better at leveling that I was.Nowadays I play my death knight wishing I had leveled my hunter instead.
Well, I was bored and I was trying out RP games, I eventually got bored of them and asked my dad if he knew any, then he got me WOW, I downloaded it and made a dwarf warrior, got him to lvl 10 thinking it was a huge achievement, then I realised how big WOW was, after a few alts I now have an 80 tankadin, 65 huntard, 38 mage and 43 shaman. OH yeh I am also addicted =)
I got myself addicted.I had just turned 18 when the very first Warcraft RTS came out: Orcs & Humans (Yes, that was in 1994. Yes, I am that old.) I was in Babbage's when I saw Warcraft, and it looked pretty slick.Back then, at least. So, I paid $30 for it and brought the game home.Almost 15 years later, and I'm still stuck in Azeroth. I still have all of the WC RTS games & expacs, even though I'm missing boxes and in some cases, systems to run the games on.I'm a 33 year old WoW addict. I've been playing since Dec '05 (I was highly resistant to the MMO at first; I was terrified they'd butchered the story line), and my son's turning 10 and starting to make comments about trying it out himself.
just after the NGE went live on Star Wars Galaxies the game lost its charm for me, and many of the people that i knew who had left after the combat upgrade had joined wow and they invited me over, and i have been happily stuck in azeroth ever since.thank you SOE for breaking SWG so that i found WOW, and helping me have some very memorable encounters with a very good game :D
WoW for me actually started back in the day of Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos and The Frozen Throne. That's what got me hooked on actually playing the actual MMO when it came out.
Who got me into WoW:A friend of a friend... of a friend... of a friend O.oI came into the game just as TBC came out.First character:Blood elf Paladin. All I heard about paladins were that they are OP, so I figured that as a new player, I might as well choose something that can solo group quests! :)First PvP:Level 19, WSG, back when twinks were TWINKS.I got roflstomped by any twink, and pwned any non-twink. :)Yes, I still play. My paladin is now lvl 80, and his profile is linked via my WoWhead avatar. If I could change things, I wouldn't have leveled so many darn alts >.>Thanks a ton for starting this thread, by the way!
I came into WoW a couple months after the BC release. My best friend in real life showed me it, and then my sister and brother in law both told me to give it a shot. I downloaded the trial, started playing and fell into it.
My friends did.
