The manor is directly east of Tarren Mill in Hillsbrad. It is across the river and through a tunnel. Then you go to the top of the building and talk to the guy.

Ravenholt Manor is located east-southeast of Tarren Mill.
You will have to go up the side of the mountain till you find a pathway leading further up the mountain.
At the top of the pathway you will find a cave.
You must go through the cave, however if you are a rogue seeking their ravenholt quest, as you pass by remeber to watch out for the chest within the cave as it is a part of that quest.
Once you are through the cave you will enter a grove with a path, follow the path and you will arrive at Ravenholt Manor.

As a note the Ravenholt quests are not completed, so keep that in mind should you attempt them you will eventunally hit a quest with no way to finish it. Just a friendly warning.

As the previous poster has mentioned, the Ravenholdt Manor has a last quest that is currently unfinishable, but it is still possible to get some rep with them and once you get enough, you can go to Ravenholdt to train your skills for a discounted price, since this place is the rogue haven.

0.) Ask the trainer in Orgrimmar for the letter - right click and start the quest
1.) Must be level 24 - with Detect Traps
2.) Head to the Zepplin out side of Orgrimmar
3.) Take the Zellplin to UC (Undertcity)
4.) Take the Bat to Tarren Mill. If you don'thave the FP (Flight Path) then head to Silverpine Forest - head south and enter Hillsbrad Foothills. Follow the road and use your mini map. Pass the Alliance town (Southshore). Once your close enough to TM it will have a arrow pointing to the location of it - follow the arrow untill you reach TM. Get the FP.
5.) Start from the Bat Handler and head east to the river. Once at the river you'll see land on the other side.
6.) Cross the river and get to the other side.
<Be careful for there are aggresive bears and spiers.>
7.) Once on the other side you should see a HUGE tree with a mountain behind it and two paths to go around it (Take whichever path you wish for it is not important). Though I perfer the right path around the mountain.
8.) Once your behind the mountain look up for there you'll see a zig-zag pathway up the mountain.
9.) Head up the mountain and follow the dirt road.
10.) Once your at the top you'll see level 50 Neutral Guards and behind them you see the tunnel!
11.) No need to stealth past the Guards for they wont attack you at all.
12.) Turn on 'Detect Traps'
13.) Enter the tunnel.
14.) Upon entering the tunnel you should see the chest! Hovering above the chest you should see a blue rectangle.
15.) Head towards the chest, but DO NOT OPEN IT! Once your close enough the quest update should have activated.
16.) Keep going through the tunnel and you end at the Manor.
17.) Head to the building and talk with Fahrad - BOOM quest completed!!

I posted this step by step while doing it with my level 24 Undead Rogue and boy was it a piece of cake! As said already you get to do the pick-pocketing to gain reputation with Ravenholdt, but thats just simple :).

In case anyone is still having trouble locating the road to Ravenholdt its 75,24. Directly behind the plateau thats north of Durnholde Keep.

i have the seal and im at fahrad and he wont take it, i was at the chest and the blue thing came up, but he wont accept the quest

The easiest way to search for the path that leads to the Manor is to find location 76,25. It is in the Hillsbrad Foothills area. NOT the Durnholde Keep area. I am including a picture of the path from the bottom.

*Also. There is some good items for sale within the Manor that cost you just silver (~24s), but go for 2+ gold at the AH.

*And, if you are alliance, and do not have the flight path yet. Jump down the mountain side to Chillwind Point. It's north across the river. It saves you time later on.

Sorry. I don't know the horde routes.

Side note: If you collect the emblems from the NPC's in the Keep BEFORE going up. It saves you some time too.

You only need 10 Syndicate Emblems to get to Friendly status with the Syndicate. They don't want anymore after that.

Opening the chest spawns a 33elite mob, that can twart any rogue 24-27.

I turned in 11 and got Friendly reuptation with them. I'm a Night-Elf.
When I turned in the 12th the reputation adds up towards the next rep. lvl.
Not sure if ya can actually get to the next level though, can't be bothered to try.

It would appear that the Ravenholdt faction is bugged for blood elf rogues. I went here on my lvl 24 belf rogue and was only able to hand in my initial quest from the rogue trainer. I was also able to hand in Syndicate Emblems to friendly, but there are no quests available for me here. Even though all of the NPCs I spoke with directed me to talk to Winstone, I can't interract with him.

thx for the Info that really helped out alot, I'm a lv26 Night Elf Rogue, so I saw alot of action on the way to Ravenholdt and alot of cool sites and was ganked a few times down the road, by mid 30's.. one time got ganked when i was reading bout the directions.. by a lv25 Undead Rogue..

Lol even challenged him to a duel, beat him then he ran up behind me while i was healing and ganked me. So yea he had alot of honor.. NOT.. anyways..

Started at 9:30 finished round 11-12.. Was a interesting quest!

Start at 75,24.
Face North and you will see a dirt path heading up mountain. Follow path up (path turns right then left) until you see two Ravenholdt guard near a cave entrance.
Enter cave , walk up to chest and mouse over it. If you have detect traps you should see a blueish, purpleish crystal appear over the chest and a warning not to open.
Continue thru cave. Upon exiting cave you should see Rite Of Cunning 1/1.
Enter sole building in Ravenholdt, head upstairs to Balcony and talk to Fahrad to complete quest.

Took me a while to find the Manor, i kept on thinking it will be in the Hillsbrad Foothils area of the map, but don't get carried away you have to go find the path leading up to the Manor which is slightly north west of Durnholde Keep. Take the path up the hill and you will find the Manor, while you go thru the Rite of Passage (thru the tunnel) ther will be a box with a message, do not open it unless u wanna fight a 33 level elite guard. Go thru the tunnel and finish your quest... its pretty simple after that. I suggest before you go looking for the Manor, stop by Durnholde Keep and do a bit of pick-pocketing and get yourself like 20-30 Syndicate Emblems, so after u go thru the rites of passage you turn the emblems in at the guards downstairs, and get your reputation up high quickly... I enjoyed this quest a lot. So i did with the Poisons one also, but that one is more fun and challenging :).

i struggled with the directions as an alliance newbie hadnt straged north of the wetlands this is how i go there
north of wetlands past DUN MODR
then i stealthed past all the lvl 30s
keeping to the road headin north to 1st fork then west all the way to hillsbrad
the lvls of should drop so i didnt need stealth
went just to the west of durnholdekeep and the land almost guides u to the path in the foothills hope this helpes

I completed this at 24 with no problem. The biggest danger were the spiders and bears along the way.

I also found that I would not get the trap warning unless stealthed.

Make sure you have trained Detect Traps.

Make your way to Ravenholdt, I won't bother explaining how to get there since alot of people have already said it.

Go into the cave, I wasn't stealthed in the cave I just ran up to the chest.

Stand there long enough and a Blue Icon appears over the chest saying "DO NOT OPEN yadda yadda yadda"

After this I got a tad confused as there was no quest complete notification so I thought it was bugged.

It isn't bugged, just keep running through the cave after you've seen the blue icon and you'll get the complete notification.

Lol, I saw the warning, noted that it was a trap, read "DO NOT OPEN ... blah blah blah", and still I opened it ... I just had to ;-)

Milton spawned ... level 33 elite, and proceded to beat the snot outta me ... I panicked a bit, then remembered vanish ... which made everything better.

I'm glad I did, it made the whole finishing text from Fahrad all the more relevant ("Did you meet Milton ... hahahah" ... "You look a bit beaten down, but no worse for the wear."

I figured that I'd done everything just right based on that text ... I'm a bit dissappointed to hear that you can complete the quest without meeting him, I figured the "Rite of Cunning" was displaying how you (as a rogue) can get out of awkward situations (Vanish from an Elite mob 9 levels your senior) ;-)

i spent ages looking for the path to ravenholdt manor and i read plenty of advice on wowhead and other sites but i just couldnt find it so i walked around randomly and accidentally found the path. when you open your world map, near hillsbrad there should be a cluster of mountains shaped like a horseshoe run to that and stand in the opening. face the mountains oppisiste the horseshoe and look sort of left and you should see a dirt path. follow that and you will get to ravenholdt. when you are in the tunnel near the chest you have to wait a few seconds for the blue gem to come up and tell you no to open it. after that it is really simple.

read waldo13's entry carefully before going mad, it is a bit old dated but it still works since detect traps is now passive, it's even easier. thanks to him, i found the place at first try.

finding enterance is much more easier for us hordies i guess, since it's just across tarren mill but face your back to the place and see the orangy huge tree, path is behind that. i personally marked 75.60, 24.00 for an easier referance for myself.

also the most important thing is don't, i repeat DO NOT forget your Syndicate Emblems in bank like me, so you won't have to go back and forth :P

Hi it did take me about... well a long time to find ravenholdt and i dident do it by my self i just say ty wowhead i have done some screenshots i think thats the best way to help someone whit a quest i did my best to show wher the path was and some more so have fun whit the quest now and good luck :D

The is a crystal that has what seems to be a very high stealth level.

I remember this quest being a lot easier to compleate on my rogue when detect traps was an active skill. But a patch from long ago changed it, so that instead of having to activate the skill to see traps it became passive and always active.

I suspect they made the crystal stealthed instead of trapped as when it was an active skill, it was clear as day with detect traps on. And those foolhardy enough to go into the den without searching for traps were punished by Milton.

Being a stealthed object, its hard to spot even when you know its there, but it was probably the best way to prevent the quest becoming totaly "broken".

If you open the chest, you will be attacked by a lvl 30 elite ( 30-35 ) and I did that... not smart at all ! and if you just deliver the quest to the leader, you will just do thos quests you get :)

The tooltip on the chest says "Open To Pass Your Rite".

The floating blue 'gem' appears only when you stealth and move close to the chest, and the 'gem' has the tooltip "DANGER! Do not open! Move Along!"

This was easier for me to find using Dernholde Keep as a landmark. If you go N along the W side of the Keep, watching out for bears and spiders, you'll come to a rise; ahead and to your left. Climb that rise and head straight N. Found winding path at 75.5, 24.0. Then follow waldo13's excellent instructions 9-17 to complete the quest.

FYI, Farad is a rogue trainer, too.

Help me!

I'm doing this quest on Vanilla Gaming Beta server, so that might be the problem, lvl 60 only.

So, i'm on my lvl 27 Rouge, human, and i'v started the quest and have travelled to Ravenholdt, and i'm in that small cave, were the chest is. i have Detect Traps, and there is a blue crystal over the chest that says "DANGER! Do Not Open! Move Along!". when i hold the mouse at the crystal, a cogwheel apears, i should be able to click it or something, and nomatter how much i do, nothing happens. And my quest logg doesn't update, so i tried to walk directly to ravenholdt and Fahrad, but i can't complete it. So, i tried to open the chest, adn that beast came put, but he fell under the ground as soon as he got out, and yet my quest logg isn't updated. Now the chest has respawned.

Plzz help me!

Ok, so something new happend. This time, he stayed when i opend the chest. There was nothing in it. I had to attack him, and when we fought, i took Vanish, and wen't past, and still no quest update

It would appear after patch 4.0.1 this quest, and its related item, Elegant Letter, has become bugged. It seems if you zone out (i.e. go into an instance or battleground), the quest will be dropped from your quest log and the Elegant Letter has a chance of disappearing from your inventory space, even though the Seal of Ravenholdt will remain.

In order to fix this problem:

If you already accepted the quest and need to zone into another area (such as when you are in Kalimdor and need to get to Eastern Kingdoms):
(1) Drop the quest from your quest log.
(2) Delete the Seal of Ravenholdt from your bag.
(3) Reacquire the Elegant Letter (if it has been lost).
(4) Go to Ravenholdt and begin the quest once you're already at the manor.

If you have not accepted the quest:
(1) Keep the Elegant Letter.
(2) Go to Ravenholdt and begin the quest once you're already at the manor.

Since rogues now learn Detect Trap at level 32 and the quest is still the same level, it took me a beating, a lot of confusion and a trip to WoWhead to figure out I could.. just skip the box. With no detect traps there's no warning, just a box practically telling you 'click me!'.

This quest was marked obsolete by Blizzard and cannot be obtained or completed.

However: There is still a very compelling reason to search this place out. It is the only place in game that you can buy Recipe: Thistle Tea. It has a 5 minute cd (which actually sucks, as it should have the same cd as any other potion maybe 2 minutes, but oh well...) It does come in pretty handy when you are ganking another rogue or druid etc in pvp, landing a couple free (don't have to wait for energy) blows. Like maybe that 4th SS and an eviscerate.

I didn't see a post with the actual coordinates listed for Ravenholdt Manor. 67.3 46.2 in Hillsbrad Foothills puts you right in front of the cave mouth, and in the Ravenholdt Manor zone.
