This quest and others of its ilk are "introduction" quests where the player is first given the opportunity to meet a class trainer.

At level 2, as with every even-numbered level until 60, a player is given the opportunity to train spells and abilities, but this will give you access to the first ones that are trainable for your class. The trainer is usually quite close to the quest giver, so if you begin this and aren't sure where to go, read the received item for a more specific location.

Accepting this quest will require one open bag slot.

Not obtainable as a Draenei. I guess only available to night elves, in case any Loremaster wannabe or rep seeker took a trip out here.

In the Dragonflight quest A Personal Offering, Tyrande Whisperwind has the player help her conduct a touching ceremony for the new wellspring in the new World Tree, Amirdrassil (located in the Dragon Isles). The player is instructed to choose a single item to contribute as a token of the Night Elves for this ceremony.

Among the list of potential offerings is "A sigil from your first trainer." It would seem this "sigil" is the class-specific sigil the player must bring to their class trainer in the Night Elf starting area:

Hunters receive Etched Sigil to take to Ayanna Everstride as part of Etched Sigil

Druids receive Verdant Sigil to take to Mardant Strongoak as part of Verdant Sigil

Priests receive Hallowed Sigil to take to Shanda as part of Hallowed Sigil

Rogues receive Encrypted Sigil to take to Frahun Shadewhisper as part of Encrypted Sigil

Warriors receive Simple Sigil to take to Alyissia as part of Simple Sigil

Monks receive Calligraphed Sigil to take to Laoxi as part of Calligraphed Sigil

I thought this was a really touching tribute considering these quests are not in the game anymore, so it's like the sigils have one last job to do before being retired. Also, it is currently unknown whether Ayanna Everstride, Mardant Strongoak, Shanda, or Alyissia survived the burning of Teldrassil by Sylvanas in the lead-up to Battle for Azeroth, so in case they perished, it is an even nicer tribute to them (sources: here, here, here, and here). Frahun Shadewhisper and Laoxi are reported to still be alive (sources: here and here).

This sigil was given to me by a messenger from our hunter trainer, Ayanna. It seems Ayanna would have words with you when you have a moment. Read it and bring it to her afterwards.
