This is easy, just kill him. He doesn't aggro, get behind him with the emote happens and avoid things on the ground.

~~Seems to be buggy.~~ The rifleman all started yelling, but the Obsidian Colossus never spawned. I abandoned the quest, now to wait for the event to reset...

EDIT: Only took about two minutes to reset. BUT make sure the giant stone Colossus statue is in the center of the square before you begin the quest.
I happened to start the quest right after someone else had finished it, and the Colossus didn't have time to respawn.

A random druid and I killed the giant, we were not grouped together. I did not receive reward for killing him so now i dropped quest and have to figure out how to get it again. Yeah I agree with you Kirby, almost every quest has some small bug and a few have big bugs.

I experienced the bug as mentioned above. However the event did not reset, and the mob did not respawn.

10 min later the falcons are still PEW PEWing at me.

You have to abandon and fly away from teh area for a bit and it will reset. Basically you have to almost re-phase the area.

He respawns at the entrance to the complex, not sure how long it takes.

You maybe have to wait some minutes until an event starts. Then you are able to defeat the colossus. Do not abandon the quest!

You can abandon it, I did today, Just takes flipping ages before the event is available for you to try it again, think I waited for about 15-20 mins.

Harrison spawned again, I took the quest and completed the event in less that a minute :) all of us waiting just formed a group and slapped him around.

If someone else tags him before you, his nameplate will not turn gray like normal, yet you will still not receive quest credit. Tried 3 times when someone else tagged first, never got credit. First time I did it alone, credit for quest.

Experienced exactly the same problem as stated above,

I abandoned the quest and it took about 2-3 minutes to reset.
Reasons why i bugged was because someone completed it prior to me giving the statue no time to respawn.

make sure that the statue is there before starting.

Note: writing this while doing the quest.

having a bug with schnottz as he refuses to have a word with Jones

Edit: Bug with schnottz solved itself, i did not abandoned but it automaticly reset.

At last completed this quest, 3rd attempt was succesful,

P.S:Mages in general and Fire mages, be careful with AoE.

To start the quest, you have to talk to Harrison Jones at 36.1, 15.7

I've found two bugs thus far:

1) If you accept the quest before the colossus has spawned, the event happens like normal.
2) If someone else accepts the quest after you do, but before Jones and Schnottz talk it out, they don't say anything to each other.

Just had a problem with this quest as well. It started fine, the colossus spawned, had him almost all the way down, when suddenly his health reset, and for a few seconds he was evading my attacks. Finally he started taking damage again, and when he was almost all the way down, he turned into stone, and the whole area re-set, no Jones, no schnotts, nothing.

Want credit?

Accept the quest, then speak to Harrison Jones. Tell him 'Let's go!'. Kill the enemy.

If you don't tell Harrison Jones 'Let's Go', or if you aren't in the party of someone who did, you will not get credit. Period.

Doesn't have to do with spamming attacks or being first on the enemy mob.

Do the Schnottz Riflemen in this quest remind anyone else of Imperial Guard riflemen (especially their rifles), from that other well-known game?

Can be stunned, extremely easy kill as a protection warrior at level 84. Just rotate charge, concussion blow and shockwave to whenever he tries to do anything nasty.

Don't be a tard like I did and start attacking/AOEing the riflemen when they come running down the stairs... I didn't die and did finish the quest but it was a huge pain in the ass. They fight the thing with you.

This quest makes no sense!

Harrison runs off. The guardian doesn't attack me and keeps the guards busy. There's no plot reason to kill it, in fact the exact opposite. We want it to kill the guards. That's a good thing, killing it is a bad thing. Why do I have to kill it before running up with Harrison? Why are the guards even shooting it? It was summoned by their boss. They should be shooting me... Makes no sense...

Beware: AoE abilities can aggro riflemen... did it with my fire mage (living bomb) and got killed. I was able to fly back to my corpse, release, and still managed to complete the quest.

Not sure what is going on with this guy, but he bugged out on me, and not like not respawning.
At ~500k hp, he evade bugged, got him down again, evade bug again, and again, and then he despawned.
Dropped quest and reaccepted and it worked perfectly.
Was party'd with a hunter if that makes a difference

There was a regeneration boost on the left side of the stairs with two pillars.

I only noticed this near the end but if you're having any troubles, try picking it up for some help.

This quest is ridiculous.

You have to tag it to get credit, but everyone joins the same instance of the event, so you're competing with everyone being stupid enough to not invite or accept your invitation.

Solo quests should take place in individual instances.

I was in the area for archaeology and perched on the wall to watch someone fight the colossus. When the fight ended, an explosion tossed me down the mountain to my death. So avoid spectating on top of the wall for this quest!

I tried to kill this thing for 15 mins...... i got it down to 63k health... and then it went back into its "statue" form, and i had to kill it again. Has this happened to anyone else or was it a bug?

The colossus has 4 attacks:

Regular attack- Just hits with his weapon, when the quest warning tells you to get behind him, do so.

Shadow Runes- Do -NOT- stand on the purple circles that spawn on the ground, within a couple seconds a crystalline shadow bolt will crash into it. This attack can apparently be interrupted.

Lasers- About halfway through the fight, the Falcon statues along the walls will start firing lasers which cross along the ground, they're slow and easily avoidable.

Groundshock- If you're a melee class, the colossus will occassionally throw you back with a Thunder Clap-like attack.

It's actually quite easy, just don't stand in anything and keep hitting him. Avoid AoE attacks, as you can aggro the Schnottz Riflemen fighting it into attacking you instead.

Finally, chests will sometimes spawn towards the edges of the arena, one is a HoT buff and the other is a Rage buff, just like those found in the huts in Warsong Gulch.

If you take out the Schnottz Supply Chopper ,which are above the big guy you have to kill, they drop chests which give you power ups like the ones you find in battlegrounds.

this was so Ark of the Covenant. The Riflemen do all the work. If you are ranged, fly to the steps that Dr. Jones runs to. just stand there. shoot once in a while, the Riflemen will do all the work. I was so waiting for their faces to melt, and their eyes to pop out.
Down side, is it's pretty dumb.
Seems like end of game became obvious in Uldum, cinematic every other quest.

Description

We have to keep moving, <name>. It's just a matter of time before those troops get their act together.

The coffer should be just beyond these ruins.

Stay on your toes. Something tells me this isn't over yet...
