This daily quest, and No Rest for the Wicked are some of the most rewarding quests in the game as far as gold. 42g each day for a single quest is pretty good, if you can only find a group.

While this quest "recommends" two players, please note that this cannot be completed solo no matter how gosu you may be.

The quest item you are given has a 1:30 cooldown and must be used at specified intervals or else the quest fails. You must have 2 people to finish it.

Using Spinal Fluid is a channel spell. If you have aggro the channel will be interrupted and your item cooldown will be activated.

Very annoying (i.e. flawed) quest.

This is the daily quest that becomes available after completing Basic Chemistry. It's basically a repeat of that quest - kill a Pustulent Horror, have everyone in your group loot the spine and use it to convert it to a Pustulent Spinal Fluid.

Head inside Mord'rethar, find a cauldron and use the fluid on it. Once the fluid is used on a cauldron, waves of mobs will spawn and attack until the cauldron is neutralized. Spawned mobs will randomly be one of the following:
- 8 x Living Plague (12K HP each)
- 2 x Rampaging Ghoul (25K HP each)
- 1 x Plague Drenched Ghoul (65K Health)
- 4 x Living Plague and 1 x Rampaging Ghoul

As stated above, using the fluid is channeled and any hits from mobs will break the channel and start the cooldown for that player, so ideally you'll want 3 people - one to tank the spawns, and two others to alternate using the fluid on the cauldrons. It can be done with 2 if you can burn through (or taunt) the mobs fast enough - but leaves little room for error.

Sometimes the cauldrons bug out and become unusable until a server restart or maintenance, so if one isn't working try the other two.

Finally, the Living Plagues drop loot - coins, cloth, potions, food & drink, vendor trash and the occasional green item, so don't forget to loot them!

This quest is solo-able. I managed to do it as a lvl 80 BE BM Hunter.

I used aspect of the viper and spammed mend pet and just blasted away with my gun using volley, arcane shot, steady shot etc. When it got down to 1/4 of it's health, I used bestial wrath and kill command.

Who would ever want to do this quest again? It was horrible to even get someone to help you the first time, so abysmal in fact that an Ally and I took turns to get it done.

Wow! A lot of the "group" quests are ones I can solo, as I have full epics....but this one IS NOT solo-able. Forget it. I was getting owned by the living plagues, which I did okay with using my traps and volley, but the two 80 elites will steam roll you. I got the spine fluid just fine from the giants.

If you are a hunter, also and a good way to kill a giant with minimal issues:

1. Find the one alone, on the end. Make sure you have plenty of room behind you for Disengage. You will need it. I had switched from MM to SV for this.

2. Fire a frost arrow a few yards in front of it, and then fire your DoTs, and burts. Me: Black Arrow, Serpent Sting, and Exp. Shot. Repeat.

3. Disengage as it gets closer, and repeat the rotation. Kill shot. Done. Both myself and gorilla survived. I was low on mana and hp, of course. But, it worked. GL.

Cooldown of Pustulant Spinal Fluid was reduced to 30 seconds so this daily is soloable now. Did it a few minutes ago.

Neutralizing the Plague

Koltira Deathweaver aboard Orgrim's Hammer wants you use Pustulant Spinal Fluid on a blight cauldron at Mord'rethar.

You can create Pustulant Spinal Fluid by using a Giant Spine collected from a Pustulant Horror.
