This quest results in, amongst other things, acquiring the Violet Hold Key which is required for the achievement The Keymaster. On a side note; It's the only key/obstacle for the achievement that requires access to Northrend, all other keys can be obtained pre-WotLK.

This quest can be picked up from the same NPC for both the Horde and the Alliance when you are 75 even though this post says otherwise.

I'm 71 at this time of posting and i can see a silver ! above his head. If it's a 77 dungeon quest how come i'm seeing this?

So even though the quest is lvl77 quest, it requires lvl75 to get it.

I'm level 80 and can't seem to get this quest, the quest giver has nothing for me. Is there a pre req for it? Human Warrior if that matters for any reason.

Interesting note: You don't actually need to do the quest to keep the key. Fairly useless info, but fun!

Seeing how patch 3.3 has the new LFG, you won't have to concern yourself with getting the key, less you try to get the Keymaster achievement.

As of Patch 4.3 this quest has become available again.
You gain 1 reputation with guild when wearing a Guild Tabard and it leads to Containment
But since you don`t need (or get) a key this quest is still needless.

Edit: What i meant to say is, even when you already completed this quest pre 4.3, you can now complet it again (wasn't sure if my post precise enough).

This quest was marked obsolete by Blizzard and cannot be obtained or completed.

Rhonin wants you to go to the Violet Hold in Dalaran and speak with Warden Alturas.

Description

Listen to me, <race>.

It's just been brought to my attention that there's been an incident at the Violet Hold. It would appear that the blues are launching a full scale invasion of Dalaran!

I need you to get to the prison and speak with Warden Alturas at once. He'll give you the details.

That is not all. I need this handled with utmost discretion. We mustn't alarm the citizens of Dalaran if it can possibly be avoided. Do I make myself clear?
