Ok so i've been doing this quest and i can not find the orb thing for the abomination. Anyone help?

Don't make the same mistake I did. The quest item has a click function and will give you a cursor like what you get when you do the old BC bombing quests. It'll look like it's supposed to have a target underneath it and you're supposed to aim it somewhere.

You're not.

You're just supposed to put it on three orbs coordinates posted above.
The orbs will be sparkly and have gear wheels when you mouse over them.

So if you do what i did, and click the quest item, don't freak out when it doesn't let you do anything.

I wasn't able to find Flesh Giant Orb, although I was at right place. I returned one hour later and still nothing, but next day it was there! So be aware this quest might be bugged sometimes.

The skeletal constructors did not attack me, although the spiked ghouls did. You can do this quest without having to kill a single mob if you avoid the ghouls and ignore the skeletons.

I have found one as pictured in the provided screenshot, but the gear icon does not register, nor does the highlight+click action work.

Blizzard fails immensely.

I have been having some difficulty finding the stands, then I discovered there might be more than one possible in each location, or more than one location possible in each section. Take this into account when considering. Basically, not all stands that you see will be active. I saw two at the first location I checked (the cauldron area) and they didn't sparkle or open a gear, so I went to the other areas and looked, then when I went back I was able to complete the quest.

Sometimes the most obvious comments are the most useful (by the way, people still actually use coordinates? lol):

all these locations are above ground. Don't go looking into any of the caves for the pedestals.

the stands are not very tall, I'm a dwarf and they ain't much bigger. Two are located on the northly ends of the platforms below the Blackwatch.

FOR THOSE WHO ARE CLUELESS! Everyone's comments are bits and pieces and I still had a hard time understanding. The three stands these orbs go on are on 3 SEPARATE platforms. One on each. There may be more than one stand on each platform that sparkle for you but only one needs to be triggered for each platform to complete the task. You don't even need the "hot button" they give you. Just click the sparkling stand.

the orbs are out in the open, not in some cave like I thought at first.. they glitter and sparkle, and your cursor changes to a cogwheel upon mouse over. just right-click 'em!

If you don't have coords (like me): two platforms are beneath eachother and beneath the q giver. De third one is (form out of the perspective of q giver) to your right an quit smaller than the other two. The third one is beneath a bigger one with a big round portal lookalike thing in te middle.

It took me a minute to figure it out. The coordinates that everyone showed were usesless. You have to find the sparkled stands that the orbs go on. there are three places and not are in the same place so you have to fly around to get it. They are not that far from each other but it just takes sometime. Be patient.

Use the Death's Gaze Orb to place orbs on the Abomination Lab Orb Stand, the Flesh Giant Lab Orb Stand, and the Cauldron Area Orb Stand, then return to Darkrider Arly at Blackwatch.

Description

The Fleshwerks is a vast operation, and it will be difficult to keep an eye on all that transpires there. Fortunately, I have a plan.

This is a death's gaze orb. With it, we can observe the Scourge's actions and decide how best to strike.

Place these orbs on the stands at three crucial areas -- the abomination lab and the flesh giant lab to the southwest, along with the area surrounding the green cauldron far to the west.
