This quest can be completed in a raid group, so ask in General if anyone else is working on it, it'll make it a lot easier. LONG LIVE WORLD PVP!

Copied the following from the Alliance side version of this quest.

There are five spirit towers visible around Auchindoun when the sixhour counter runs out - they are roughly 10 o'clock, 12:30, 2, 4 and 6 o'clock positions. There is a buff if you cap all 5. You can be in bird form (druid) or in your flying mount but you have to be touching the ground to cap - 10/80/10 is the alliance/gray/horde breakdown for the slider.

Once we capped all five a six hour timer popped up and there were no more capturing possibilites.

The buff is called Blessing of Auchindoun - "Experience gain increased by 5 % Damage increased by 5 % Allows the capture of Spirit Shards"

For the Horde! :)

Converting a Tower to Horde is 1 minute's worth of work.
1) Flag for PvP by rt clicking on your picture and click enable. On a PvP server you don't have to do anything different.
2) Stay within 20yds or so of the tower while flagged and it will begin converting to your side. If you are flying, you MUST land. You can land on top of the tower and get credit, but it can be tricky.
This process takes roughly 1 minute but the time reduces by 50% for every other Horde player standing in range and flagged. Any Horde player of any level (I've had a 57 do it) will convert the tower.
If an alliance player is alive and in range while flagged the conversion will stop until he leaves range or is dead. This operates the exact same way as the Towers in EotS battleground.
If you can get all 5 converted you get the 5% XP buff and Horde can gather Spirit Shards from bosses inside the dungeons. And yes only 1 tower is needed to complete this quest. You will have to wait for the entire 6 hours to finish counting down to attempt it again.

Easiest way is to gather 10 players together, put 2 on each a few minutes before the timer expires and boom they are all yours 30 seconds afterwards.

I'm don't focus very much on PvP, but I'm still up for getting some easy honor. Therefore, I try to do this quest every day. In 9 out of 10 cases*, you won't get attacked by the opposite faction while doing it. Very easy Honor.

I stood on one of the towers for a good 10 minutes and nothing happened. All were controlled by alliance (me being horde) and i noticed the blue tower icon on the top of my screen said "4:33 until towers become capturable". Anyone know more about this? I've done this before in a 5 man group and got the faction shift bar like EotS just fine.

Make sure the icon at the top of the screen is Captureable... if not, nothing will happend when you reach the towers.

At level 80 you recieve 620 honor and 13g 23s.

This scales with level. You get as much gold as the daily battle ground quests and half as much honor at level 80. If your in the area and the towers are about to become active this quest is worth doing.

i just completed this unflagged on a pve server. i was riding by as someone from my faction captured the tower, and i was given credit. weird! but not complaining.

When u look around Auchidoun you will notice some little towers: These are the Spirit towers. They dont take to long to be captured.

Rogues: You must be out of stealth to capture a tower. If you stealth while the timer is running the timer will disappear, and then reappear after breaking stealth. Not sure about druids.

In the last year I've only ever completed this once. They are almost never able to be captured. One amazingly badly broken quest IMO.

Nice little 16 Gold 54 Silver pickup for doing nothing more than refreshing my self buffs and tidying my bags while sitting atop a tower. Ahhhhhh guess everyone must have moved on to WotLK and Cata content. Leaving me to grab the crumbs.

Just a bit of clarification. Since this quest is a daily, you can acquire it anytime, once a day. But you can't complete the quest if the timer is running. When the timer runs out and the words "Towers Controlled", followed by a number, appear you can complete the quest, and can cap a tower even if the other faction already has it.

Another thing that confused me when I first attempted this quest: The towers are not visible on the in-game map unless they are available for capture. In other words, you can't see them (on the map) if the timer is running. They are just barely visible on the mini-map, they are small light green-grey circles. Once the timer runs out a grey icon for each tower pops up on the map.

It has already been mentioned that your faction gets a buff when you have captured all the towers. I don't think anyone mentioned the fact that spirit shards (used to buy trinkets, etc.) also become available to that faction. They drop from bosses in the Achindoun dungeons.

Fantastically easy experience for any toon, the issue with this daily is that one faction or the other will usually capture all 5 towers shortly after they come up. Given that the timer is at least 2 hours (off the top of my head, I think it's either 3 or 6), essentially this means that the towers won't reliably be available when you go to do the rest of your dailies. It's a real shame too, given that there is very little reason to get the 5-tower buff. Spirit Shards are all but useless (even for transmog, the items aren't very impressive), and the 5% experience still prevents players from both factions - and even you on your other toons - from completing the daily.

Description

The draenei might be our enemies, but the spirits of their ancestors in Auchindoun are restless and have no allegiance.

The draenei's custom required them to pay their respects at spirit towers at various times during the day. If you can help secure a tower during these times, you will help the spirits return to peace in Auchindoun.

The Alliance will try to capture the towers in order to secure the dead's favor. We must ensure that our side succeeds instead.
