There is a level 72 elite bear near the Altar. Keep your distance from it.

The key to this quest, is to keep a suitable distance from the Altar and not interfere with the script. After you place the trap, Gorgrom will appear in the large clearing on the north side of the Altar, walk to it and get killed by the trap.

Very easy, if you don't interfere. Very painful, if you do.

FYI: it aint just any bear, its rexxars loyal pet misha. PvP taged and all, but when it comes to the gronn, just do what Aevorn said, works like a clock

It's worth to mention that you need 3 Grisly Totems, which drops of the ogrees. After Gorgrom walked into the trap, you need to plant the totems there. It's done by simply clicking on them in your backpack.

It seems to be possible to plant the totems a short while after the corpse of Gorgrom vanished, incase you forget to plant them (like I did). But play it safe, and plant them as soon as possible.

Again, very easy. Clear a little room around the altar, and then inch up to it until you can click on it. Set the trap, stand still, wait for him to show up and die, and then right click on your totems. You'll already be in position and poof, quest done.

Slay a few ogers to get the totems, just click the altar and use stealth (if you are a rogue) the elite will walk upp to the altar and die of the trap. Walk up to him and place out the totems. (you can stay on the same place and place them out)

I accidentally walked right into him as he spawned and he didn't aggro me, so I think there's a grace period of a few seconds for you to get the hell alway from the altar and let the trap do it's stuff. But stay back anyway.

I recommend clearing the ogres all around the camp fire since they'll attack you.
Grogrom, when summoned, will walk straight to the altar and fall. Then you must put your totems that you gathered all around his body.
And just incase you think that scene is sad look at the ogre near the forge who will be dancing better than any charcater in the game. :P

I would suggest completly the quest line (name of which escapes me at the moment) to become the King/Queen of the Ogres. If you do the ogres in the camp will not attack you which makes doing this quest extremely easy.

I accidently put down the grisly totems before I even summoned gorgrom, and at the time I planted the three totems I got the quest completed in my log, so I think you dont even need to summon him to complete the quest.

Very easy. He runs straight to the alter and dies. Totems are also VERY easy to get.

This is among the worst, most confusing quests you will ever attempt. It's so terrible and so poorly thought out it's really not worth even trying for the paltry XP. Epic fail on Blizzard's part here.

Go to the altar and click it. It will summon an elite. He dies. Use the 3 totems in your bag (that you got from looting Orges in the area).

I'm not sure if it was one of my add-ons interfering with the totems or what, but the first two times I tried, I couldn't place the totems. I'd right - click them in my bag, but nothing.
So I tried moving the totems to my action bar, and it worked just fine. 🤯

Gorgrom the Dragon-Eater

Collect 3 Grisly Totems from Boulder'mok ogres. Then, use Sablemane's Trap at Gorgrom's Altar to summon and kill Gorgrom the Dragon-Eater.

When Gorgrom is dead, place the 3 Grisly Totems near his corpse.

Description

We must show the ogres that we are not to be trifled with. We must send a message.

Travel to Boulder'mok and kill the ogres there. Make sure you keep their heads.

Then go to Gorgrom's altar and place the trap there for him. Gorgrom will appear, and you must lure him into the trap. When he is dead, mount your grisly totems near his corpse, so that the ogres may look at their fallen master and their fallen brothers, and know the price for seeking to destroy us.
