This is not as easy as it seems.

When you speak to Sal'salabim, he turns hostile and attempts to own your face. He is a 68 elite, so you may very well need friends. Hits for 1k on cloth. Ow.

He hits hard (1700 crushing on cloth) and does the magnetic pull spell when you try to kite him. However I was able to solo him as a 66 frost mage.

I actually completed this quest without attacking him at all. When I arrived at Sal'salabim, 2 alliance were already killing him. When they got him down to low health, he went back to his spot with a quest complete message over his head. I guess you just have to be in the area when he gets 'subdued'

I think this quest is currently bugged, We killed Sal'salabim, and there was no questionmark over his head. It said the quest was completed, but we couldnt hand it in.

You'll need a friend. Blast him down to about 20%. He'll go friendly and the question mark will pop up over his head. You can complete the quest.

Don't blast him into oblivion. Slow down as you get to 20%. It isn't bugged. He'll give a follow-up quest.

Same banish+curse of doom trick, solo. Interesting thing though: use a voidwalker with auto-torment and he'll keep aggro the entire fight. Health Funnel him back to full after each banish. Trivial.

You have to go to strattah city (77'35), and talk to the guy, choose the second option and u will get hostile with him, then fight him, bring him to ~15% health and complete quest.

Solo'd this guy with a level 70 Druid (1-46-14). Dragged him outside so I could use Nature's Graps. Be careful though as he can still pull you towards him with his magnet spell.

Mekk is right, complete cake with the warlock banish/curse of doom combo and a VW as a pet. Just make sure you use max rank CoD and rank 1 banish to time it right. CoD, banish, banish, rinse, repeat.

Make sure that you don't fear him before he hits 20% AND that he is green before you click on him when you're done fighting. we had to do it twice because he aggrod us after he went friendly.

4/3/07 and its still really bugged. Try to use fear as little as possible as I think that is what triggers the bug. I had to do it at least 8 times before I got the golden questionmark.

I tried fear kiting 4 times, both inside and outside. I tried the Banish/CoDoom method 2 times, one time remaining completely stationary for the entire fight. It bugged out every single time. This quest is not worth my bother~

I was able to solo this guy with a Disc/Holy priest although it took a few tries and a little bit of luck. A couple feet in front of the mailbox outside of the bar, you'll notice that there is a stone ledge with a drop off. You can use this drop off to essentially kite him since he has to walk around it and you can jump off of it. If you're good at strafing you can basically ping pong him left and right on top of the ledge because he'll always take the shortest path to you. Use Psychic Scream if he gets too close to you and keep SW:P on it. When it gets to about 20% health, fear it off(and reapply SW:P so he doesn't reset) and run back to the bar for the final blow. You may not get quest credit if you subdue him too far from where he was originally standing.
Hope this helps for any Priest unable to find a group for it at 4am in the morning like me ;)

Mage friend helped me out, but I could probably have solo'd him blowing my cooldowns as a Shaman. (Elemental Totems, trinkets, bloodlust)

Soloed as a 70 BM Hunter by just pulling my pet back over a Freeze Trap whenever it got low on health. That gives enough time for Mend Pet to heal it back to full again. Sal'salabim does way too much dps for Mend Pet to keep up in a straight fight.

If you have this quest and see someone else doing it, help them out. If you're in combat with Sal'Salabim when he goes friendly again, you'll also get quest credit.

I completed it this way with a 70 horde druid (me being a 68 alliance mage).

Tried to solo this as a 66 Frost Mage, but couldn't quite make it. Had him down to 36% at one point but he moves pretty quick so even with my snares he was getting in a few hits before I could fire off a frostbolt - which was enough to kill me.

In the end I had a priest heal me throughout and I managed it, then.

While it is true that this quest is not easy to solo, it can be done. Even by a 70 Warlock; however, you must have a Felguard. As soon as you get the quest from him attack him with felguard and fear him. Then slam him with the hardest spells you have: Shadowbolt, soulfire, deathcoil and DOTs. As soon as fear starts to wear off, fear him again and continue with forementioned spells and DOTs. He will not die. He just gives up and runs back to the bar where you can get your new quest from him. It helps if you have spell amplifying trinkets and potions such as superior wizard oil. I died once trying this method but got him in my second try.

I noticed something really worrying killing him: he resets agro or something of the sort! from time to time all my sunders disappeared and had to rush into it with everything I had available at the point, demoralising shout worked best. also completed whiel groupind with a druid for heal, and altough I died the first time not knowing what to expect we downed him pretty easy second time.

He heals himself completely at about 20% health. I didn't realize that while soloing him, and I died when he was at about 40% after having healed himself. Still, the quest was marked as complete when I ran back to my corpse.

I dropped him to 1% hp (level 70 paladin) and the quest log said it was complete. Then he full healed, and started on me again, so, i beat him down again. After three kills he just kept going and full healing, so i just let myself die, and then went back and completed the quest. I'm guessing this is a bug.

Solo'd him at a 67 Death Knight but I had to do it twice. Once he gives up and stops attacking you run out of the room if you have Unholy Blight up because it will agro him again.

Just "attempted" as a 66 DK - Unholy. Didn't have my zombie out else he would have been toast, however it doesn't matter if you have trained up to Shadow of Death and you end up dieing he will essentially reset in his starting position with a gold "?" over his head and you are able to complete the quest.

Just a tip don't attack him on the same spot that you talk to him. I attacked him there and didn't notice that he stopped attacking for a second and kept hitting him, ended up having him heal 3 times before he killed me.

He is located at 77,35 in Shattrath at the World's End Tavern in the Lower City. Soloed this quest as a 68 Elemental Shaman. First laid down a Stoneclaw Totem to avoid grabbing aggro. Not necessary as you won't die from one hit, but might as well. Then drop a Fire Elemental Totem, talk to him to get it started, toss a few Lightning Bolt's when you get a chance and heal. Easy.

Solo'd as a 67 Affliction Warlock.

My first try ended poorly. Felhunter, Succubus.. any of these will do nothing to really help you :-(

My 2nd try, I summoned an Infernal immediately before talking Sal'salabim.
The Infernal kept all the aggro, so I just DoT'ed him up. Sal'salbim does a lot of damage quickly to the Infernal, so I suggest keeping him feared as frequently as you can. Keep close attention to the DoTs. Make sure you're hitting him with something at all times.

I primarily used Curse of Agony, Corruption, Haunt, Unstable Affliction and Drain Life. Since I wasn't being attacked directly, I used Life Tap occasionally and reaped the benefits of the health regenerated through spell damage, Haunt, and Drain Life.

In the end, he destroyed my Infernal and came after me with around 25% health. Fortunately, I was able to get him to 20% health without dying... which required a Healthstone, Death Coil, and Super Healing Potion to keep me alive.

To be clear, you only need to get him to 20% health before the fight is over and you win.

I did this on a lvl 66 paladin and it was actually very hard even with shields and heals (and three heirlooms) and when he gave up he was still hostile and i ran out of the bar and he still followed me and killed me but when i got back i had completed the quest

This was the hardest part of the chain for me as a 66 affli lock. I used my VW, but he kills that guy fast, and if you health funnel your pet, it will draw aggro to you. I ended up using fear/CoA/corruption and being patient. Spam that fear! Be careful of his pull ability. He can pull you in and kill you before you can get off a fear if you are not at/near full health.

I read it elsewhere, but the guys who owe him money are way easier, as are the elites later on down the chain, even though they have way more hit points.

Solo'ed as a lvl 68 shadow priest w/ 5 heirlooms and quest greens/blues.

Send in shadowfiend, then DoT up, Mind blast, mind flay till he gets close, then Psychic Horror & run away to Mind Flay more, then Psychic Scream to open up some room, refresh DoTs, mind flay, and he's down.

For any high levels solo-ing him, be careful how you damage him. If you take his last 10% before he can go green he'll reset and you'll have to fight him again until you get it right.

I myself got him from 50%-0 with one starfire, imagine my surprise when he turned back round with full health. Took me 3 times to get it right.

Usually i am an arcane age but had to switch to frost all i did was slow him down with frostbolt then trap him with pets ice, get fingers of frost then ice lance him twice and repeat if he pulled me in i blinked back out.

I don't know why everyone says this is so hard. I just soloed him as a 66 Shadow Priest. Just threw up my mana shield, sent in my shadowfiend at first. Kept the mana shield up, kept Paining and Mind Flaying him with the occasional Mind Blast and Devouring Plague.. Moved to the center of the room, got him to 20% and quest completed. I didn't even get past 75% health.

Just solo'd him with my 68 Arcane Mage, frost armor on. Just backed up, slapped arcane slow on him and let him have it with arcane blast, arcane barrage, fire blast, ice lance, and arcane missiles when it proc't and blinked when he got too close. Mostly quest greens on. I didn't get down past 2/3 of health.

If you're stuck trying to complete Nagrand Slam like I was, this quest counts towards the achievement, then complete the next one in the chain and you will be sent back to Nagrand to finish up.

Altruis the Sufferer in western Nagrand wants you to take the Master Planner's Blueprints to Sal'salabim in Shattrath City and convince him to help you.

	Sal'salabim Persuaded (1)

Description

Take the blueprints and travel to Shattrath City in the Terokkar Forest. Once at Shattrath, go to the Lower City and look for a mo'arg by the name Sal'salabim. He'll probably be at the bar, drinking away his sorrows.

By the way, you may need to convince him to lend his assistance. Try to approach him with patience and understanding. If that does not work, use your fists.
