This is the level 86-90 equivalent of Dust of Disappearance (Level 81-85) and Vanishing Powder (Level 80 and below). Like the previous iterations, it allows you to change one glyph that you have enabled OR change a talent within a specific tier to another within that same tier (e.g. level 15 tier, 30 tier, etc.)

This being said, any talent change or glyph change will consume one Fel-Charred Tome; you cannot change BOTH a talent and a glyph with a single tome.

These are also sold by http://www.wowhead.com/npc=24935#sells . I noticed it when going below deck on one of the zeppelins in Orgrimmar just to see what was down there.

Can't see it on the sell-table, but it is sold by the machine for 50s each.

Am I missing something? I'm level 90 and Hagra does not have these for sale. I even made sure to unselect "Warlock" specification on the vendor window just to be sure. Apparently they changed the vendors when MoP went live. Where are they sold now?

I find it weird that despite the fact the tome says "Sold by inscription vendors...." when it does not seem to be sold by inscription vendors at all, lol. Sadly, even the inscription vendor in Vale of Eternal Blossoms only sells the lower level ones, kinda odd.

Considering the worst-case scenario of getting only one ink (two pigments) from one milling of 5 herbs. Those herbs would need to cost 2g per stack to make a remotely viable way of getting these Tomes.

For a best-case scenario, obtaining 2 inks (4 pigments) from a single milling of 5 herbs, the herbs would still have to be 4g per stack to make Inscription a viable option.

TL;DR: needs to make multiple Tomes to ever be viable over just purchasing the Tomes from a reagent vendor.

I have not been able to use these to change my talents while in a dungeon group. Is this normal, or is it a bug?

I thought you were supposed to be able to change your talents and glyphs mid-instance, or mid-raid.

I went half nuts trying to figure out how to use this item. You don't use it. You just click on your newly chosen glyph, then the space you want to put it on (over the old one). You cannot do this unless you have the Tome of the Clear Mind in your bags.

Solution: Not able to change talents

Check your add-ons. Couldn't change my talents when I hit 90 and finally figured out 2 add-ons that were causing the talent removal to stop after confirming 1 Tome of the Clear Mind.

Disable Talented
Disable Recount

Able to modify talents all I want now. Hope this helps others.

USER BEWARE! Using this to adjust your glyphs (specifically, when you put the new glyph in) while mounted will dismount you! (This has resulted in my death at least once.)

These are actually sold by many more vendors than listed. Jaromir Gladetender will sell it for 40s if you are Exalted with Darnassus.

Come Legion, this item will be obsolete and any remaining in your inventory/bank will be converted to Fel-Charred Tome.

The reagents for talent changes are being modified, as below:

Tome of the Clear Mind was the old reagent (available from vendors for 50s each) while the new reagents (both of which are only crafted by Scribes) are:

Tome of the Clear Mind (level 1-100)
Tome of the Tranquil Mind (level 15-110 - only option for level 101+)

The old system required 1 Tome of the Clear Mind per talent change. The new system allows unlimited talent changes within 1-minute of using Tome of the Clear Mind.

The new tome, Tome of the Clear Mind, will require the following materials:

Light Parchment X 20
Warbinder's Ink X 4

The higher level version, Tome of the Tranquil Mind, will require the following materials (making it comparitively much more expensive):

How will the new talent system work?

There will be new changes coming to Legion with regards to talent changes. In a nutshell, come Legion changing talents requires your character to be in a "Rested" state (as opposed to now, where you can freely change talents out of combat). Other than using this item, a "Rested" state is present in all major cities, in any Inn, in Class Order Halls and will also be present around a Codex of the Tranquil Mind when placed. Tome of the Clear Mind and Tome of the Tranquil Mind both grant a personal "Rested" state.

NOTE: In Legion, respec costs have been removed. Players can swap between all 3 (or 4, for Druids) specializations freely.

The rationale behind this change is that Blizzard wanted Talent changes to be a meaningful choice, with significant costs and trade-offs.

In theory, if the "Rested" state from this item behaves like all others in the game, it should also allow instant logout (without a 20 second countdown timer).
