Turns green at 355 and grey at 360. Like most of the stones and runes it's one of the more efficient means of leveling to or close to the point it turns grey (through 359 or 360 in this case, although I'd probably stick with the former).

freddycouger is right, just buy adamantite breatplate in telhedor(if you're allaince) and skill up.. i did more than 16 and nothing

I have been leveling up blacksmithing on my Death Knight, and a trend I have noticed nearly 90% of the time is the yellow chance level always has a very low chance right before it turns to the green chance level. I was just leveling up Adamantite Cleavers to go from 345-350, and got a skill point each level from 345 to 349. It took me 5 extra times on 349 to get to 350. With the Adamantite Weightstone, from 350-359 I got a skill up almost every time with my worst taking four in a row to get the next skill up. At skill level 359 I have done 15 and still haven't got the skill up. I've given up and I'm just going to make Cobalt items to level BS now.

So although you possibly can still get a skill up, there seems to be some strange thing happening right before the recipes change there skill up color chance where there chance becomes so low that it is not worth it to use a green recipe to level it up. .
