As of 3.0.2, Feathers/Beads now give 300 rep per 5.

The mobs remain the same - 10 for the lower (4 at L70), 20 for the bosses (8 at L70).

Friendly advice. Don't turn in your beads or feathers until you reach revered. I was getting 4 rep points per kill, until I reached revered. So save your beads and feathers. I'm getting 300 rep for 5 beads or feathers. It takes 21000 pts to get to exhalted from revered, that's 350 feathers/beads. 350 kills x 4 pts each is 1400. Which is 20 less beads/feathers that you need to collect! Hoping someone can learn from my mistake.

TURN-INS GIVE 300 REPUTATION NOW. YOU ONLY NEED 350 FEATHERS OR BEADS to get through revered.
Ignore any guides below saying that you need more. Those guides are old.
Mobs only give reputation through Honored, so save your feathers/beads until you get 350 total, at which point you can start turning in the excess.

Tip: If you're farming for these pre-revered, don't turn any of these in until you're revered or have enough stocked up to take you all the way to exalted. Once you cross that line to revered, this grind becomes much more tedious. While you're below it you'll get almost as much rep from the kills as from the beads so don't pass up on that extra rep.

Has anyone noticed a drop in drop rate? I could get about 100 in an hour or so, then I went on vacation and I came back and in an hour I collected 20. I talked to a GM and he/she said he/she could not give me this information. Frustrating...

I get theese on allmost every mob i kill. So i wuld say the dropprate is back up at 90% again.

If you need a macro to deliver this quest over and over:

"RightClick" your quest giver, then tap the Macro 3 times, and repeat.

The drop rate for these items is closer to 40% on the Winterfall Pathfinders, Totemics and Den Watchers. WoWHead shows them so low because of so many people either farming them without having killed the prequest, or farming and not looting. This is based on a sample of 50 NPCs killed (20 drops).

Drop rate for me, at Honored, is horrid. Just killed over 25 of the bastards and finally one fell. I have decided to hold them all until I hit 'Revered'. This drop rate crap is ridiculous.

High Chief Winterfall gives 40 Reputation, even past 11999/12000. So every 3 Kills are 2 beads less to farm.

I would highly recommend going back to the northern Deadwood camp to farm up feathers instead of these beads.
The drop rate is MUCH higher and more spawn rate for the village is much quicker.

I just reached Exalted, and I found that the village east of Everlook was better than the Deadwood camp. The camp has far, far fewer mobs, which means very long respawn waits if you're one- or two-shotting them. On top of that, it tends to be more heavily farmed, since it's in a higher-traffic area.

I found a farming pattern that worked well for me in the Winterfall village; hopefully someone else will find it useful. Start by immediately climbing the hill to the right as you approach the village entrance from the north. Kill the three stationary furbolgs just standing there, then follow the ridge and kill a moving one plus four more stationary ones. You'll see the yeti cave below to your right. Turn toward the village, and kill the two at the far left of the east-west path, then follow the path to the east until you kill High Chief Winterfall in his cave. Backtrack to the wooden portcullis separating the upper and lower halves of the village, then descend, kill the one on your left, then the one at the far west edge of the village. Now run to the other half and kill the three on the east side of the village, then go up into the hills to kill the one that paths behind the log-huts, then a second further up in the hills, which should be almost straight northeast of the first one. Now descend from the hills by heading northwest, putting you outside the village proper. Kill the two on the near side of the road into the village, one wandering mob, and the three on the far side of the road. Ascend the hill you're in front of, and you shouldn't have to wait more than 2 minutes for the mobs to start respawning, generally in the order that they were killed. There are some easy paths up the hill near the northernmost mob.

The first time through this loop takes a while for the respawns to warm up; once you've done it three or four times in a row, the downtime shrinks to little waits here and there, usually 10 or 15 seconds each and less than a minute total. That's 30 mobs, if I'm remembering right, with a drop rate of roughly 1 in 3, so 10 beads per loop (average). Unfortunately I never bothered to time exactly how long each loop is, but I was easily collecting 100 beads per hour, so that suggests 6 minutes average (including respawn waits). Track Humanoids helps, if you're a Hunter or Druid, but after a while you won't need it because you'll learn the spawn point of each mob.

Well aside from the long rep grind (good thing I was honored when I started). It is decent money, selling the greens and useless other stuff. Its not too bad.

as far as winterfall village goes, when im farming that, ill normally throw up a quick party invite if i see someone else running in. there is a lower level quest for the mid/high 50s that leveling chars could use your kills to complete their quest, the frost saber mount farmers just need credit for the kill, and the timbermaw farmers need rep (while they can still get it) and the beads that only the people that have done the quest can loot. its a win win situation... share the love. even if i only need 1 shaman farming for winterspring, it will be easier for everyone if 3 people can share the kill.

Post 4.0.3 patch, Timbermaw rep is crazy easy to get now:

1. You get rep from kills even at revered.
2. May be a bug, but you get 2000 rep for every turn-in of 5 beads!

So to get thru revered, all you need is 55 beads. :-)

Not only do the turn-ins give more rep, but if you previously completed the timbermaw quests, they are now reset. They each give in the vicinity of 1000 rep.

I just grounded to Revered Rep with TH from Honored. I have 20 beads, but there is no blue exclamation point over Salfa or the other TH NPCs that give rep for item turn ins. Could be a bug just with my server (Arthas)? Anyone else having the same prob?

Is there something I am missing? I have killed about 30 of these winterfall furblogs, and havent gotten any beads at all...

If you are choosing between the Felwood Feathers and the Winterspring Spirit Beads:

- The rep per kill is the same (22 for my 85 Druid).
- The Winterfall mobs drop runecloth; the Felwood mobs drop mageweave but more of it.
- Grolnar the Berserk gives you no rep and drops nothing, so don't bother.
- You'll need 5 of each item per turn-in. I got 2200 rep per turn-in to each NPC.
- There are no more treasure chests in Winterfall Village :-(
- I don't have the exact numbers but the spirit beads in Winterfall Village were dropping for me at a rate of about 40%.
- Grazle's feathers dropped at a lesser rate; maybe 30%.
- Winterfall Village is almost always more crowded with rep seekers. Nobody goes to Felwood; it's just not fashionable.

Any way you do it, I think it is still the easiest faction to get to exalted.

This comment is to anybody who wishes to farm the Beads for Reputation. I spent my day today farming reputation, killing the mobs and getting beads on my level 72 shadow priest because I was trying to get honored for the "Enchant Weapon - Agility" and I spent probably 5 hours. I ended up with 3800/6000 Friendly and 81 Beads. I decided to turn them in because they were supposed to give 75 reputation per 5 you give in.

Apparently, rep gains changed.

Each mob you kill gives you 22 reputation.

Every 5 beads you turn in you get 2200 reputation.

At the end, with my very last turnin, I got exhalted, which I thought was pretty funny. I gave myself a /facepalm for working so hard for that, but in the end, I got some good stuff.

So 5 hours from starting the quests you'll get exhalted, probably 2 hours at level 85. Good luck to all!

As of the 16 of January 2012, I went with a 85 to farm rep for timbermaw hold.

We slayed more than 500 of those furballs and 1 bead dropped, we ended up just killing the mobs untill we got honored. Took 1 hour and a bit.

I dont know if it was my luck, but I dont think the droprate is as good as it used to be or as it states here on Wowhead :(.

Make sure you turn in the extra beads! You get 40S per 5 Winterfall Spirit Beads. Vendoring gives only 2S per...

Now, past Pandaria, it is SO easy to get exalted with Timbermaw Hold!

You only need 5 of the Feathers to get 2200 Rep for them EACH TIME. Felwood Side.*
And 10 Beads to get 1540 (more widespread areas). Winterspring Side.*
*Not human, with Guild Bonus

If no one is there, I recommend farming the feathers to get to exalted REAL fast.

As of 18 June 15, they drop at a rate of around 6-8 enemy killed. So plan on killing around 60-80 to get them. If you're not getting exp for the kills, you're wasting your time.
